ZDNet is reporting that AT&T Business Solutions CEO Ron Spears states that 40% of iPhone sales are to business customers. This of course, disproves the notion that the iPhone hasn’t caught on in the business world due to technical, legacy, or other reasons.
Four out of 10 sales of the iPhone are made to enterprise users. When the iPhone came out, what most people heard in the first year from ’07 to ’08 was oh my God, it’s not BlackBerry secure. This is not going to work on the enterprise space.
At the end of the day, it’s just software. That’s all it is.
Spears also goes on to mention that the iPhones adoption in the business world has picked up as Apple has addressed security concerns. Spears also notes that many corporations are viewing these devices as alternatives to expensive laptops. The iPad is likely to see similar adoption for the same reasons.
