TinyGrab started off as a simple image sharing cloud service for Windows and Mac OSX, but now it, too, has an iPhone app. It’s only $1.99 and requires no subscription to use, but I can’t, for the life of me, think of any reason to use it.
TinyGrab specializes in taking your pictures, uploading them to the cloud, and then providing you with a tiny URL for sharing purposes. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Twitter apps, the Dropbox iPhone app, Pastebot, and Evernote can already accomplish something similar. I use Pastebot for throwing pictures from my iPhone to my Mac, Dropbox or Twitter for quickly sharing pictures through Tiny URLs, and Evernote for saving important pictures of receipts.
I feel a little bad about passing the app up, since I was able to grab a free Pro account through one of the MacHeists, but it’s offering something I simply don’t need at the moment. I’m also a little antsy about how long the service may or may not stay around (see official TinyGrab post here). So although I admire the service for its simplicity and the company for its transparency, I’ll stick to the apps I have now. If you’re still looking for an easy way to share a quick pic or screenshot, however, the iTunes link is here.
