Dirt Moto Racing features 36 separate events which are a mix of lap races, checkpoint runs, elimination and sprints events. All of them are just different racing scenarios and are great fun, except when you even slightly go off track the game will send you back onto the track which is slightly annoying.
During your time racing you have chances to pull off some cool tricks which, if you successfully landed, add to the amount of speed boost you can use during the race. I’m disappointed to see that the developers didn’t include some kind of multiplayer option as this sort of racing game would suit multiplayer well.
Controls
Dirt Moto Racing uses the accelerometer to great effect, tilting your iPhone (or iPod Touch) turns your ATV and sharply tilting it sends you into a powerslide (drift) to get round some tight corners and it is a major part of the game. Their are two buttons on either side of the screen which you use to control both acceleration and brakes although I never ended up using the brakes throughout the entire game opting instead for a solid powerslide. Tricks are pulled off by pressing a button on the bottom of the screen while in mid-air or swiping across your ATV to do various kinds of flips.
Graphics
Dirt Moto Racing’s graphics appear really nice to me, but then again that could of been because I was paying so much more attention to winning my races. The drivers and their ATVs look good, I felt that some of the textures in the game could use some work but I think that they may have been designed that way to keep the frame rate high.
Customization
As you win events in career mode you get points which you can use to customise the performance of your ATV. It’s pretty fun to change where you put these points as you can actually notice a difference in the areas you use them in. Since there is no multiplayer options for Dirt Moto Racing I didn’t think customization of the player was that important but the game does allow you to change the color of your driver and your ATV and your gender.
Conclusion
Overall Dirt Moto Racing is an excellent game and is only let down by a few things such as the non-existent multiplayer and the ability to go slightly off the tracks. It has good replay value, fast gameplay and you can pull some cool tricks. If you like racing games I can honestly recommend Dirt Moto Racing as it offers real value for the price.
