Whether you ‘re a world traveler, or take the occasional overnight vacation, nearly everyone has neglected to bring at least one thing that would have made the trip go more smoothly. If you ‘ve wondered if there were an app devoted to the organization of preparing a packing list, then Packing (+ To Do) or Packing Pro from Quinnscape are a great place to start.
From first use, the interface in either app is intuitive and easy to navigate. In ‘Packing” (+To Do) ‘ you ‘re presented with an initial choice as seen below, while the Pro version moves the Master Catalog to a bottom menu and adds ‘Design ‘ and ‘Help ‘ choices as well.
In the more basic ‘Packing (+To Do) ‘ app, there are four sample lists from which to select. ‘Packing Pro ‘ on the other hand offers 8 sample lists “ adding samples for couples, families, businesses, and campers (which also explains the doubling of items in the Catalog “ from 400 to 800 items).

Creating a packing list can be as complex as you want to make it.
- You could choose to create one from scratch by perusing the massive catalog (with its categories, types, and items) and select items you want;
- you could use a sample packing list and alter it;
- you can create a new one from a personal list you’ve already made (my personal favorite);
- you can import a list;
- you can use Expert Help (Pro version only) by entering how many people are traveling, temperature at destination, food preparation, and how you will be washing your clothes.

From the View/Edit menu on the opening screen, the power of these apps really shine. There are so many well thought out options – from editing, sorting, emailing, and searching (Pro version only) “ to the expected placing a done ‘checkmark ‘ when the item has been accomplished or packed.
Both apps are tremendously powerful: the developer has considered what a person needs when wanting to use these apps, especially the ability to personalize them beyond what most apps ever have. Both of these apps completely deliver what their developer promotes!
If you ‘re a list maker, you ‘ll love either of these two. If you believe an app should give you the freedom to make it yours, you ‘ll love either of these two (including changing the color, fonts, etc. in the Pro version). If you need landscape mode, the search function, and/or the desire , select the Packing Pro. You ‘ll be pleased with either!
