They are cutting data more than half but only giving you a 5 dollar discount. There AT&T goes again only looking out for their bottom line & not their customers.

From other sites, I believe that if you had unlimited data and upgrade from a 3G or 3GS to a 4G iPhone, you'll get to keep your unlimited data. The pricing scheme is just for new Plans, not new phones.

My impression is that these new plans are for all smartphones, not just the iPhone.

For those wondering, AT&T reports it in KB so you need to convert to MB, which is approximately KB * .001.

In 6 months I've averaged 258MB. Combining all 6 months together I have used a little over 1.5GB; however, if I had a 200MB limit I'd have gone over in month 1, 2, and 6; and be under in the rest. My point is that my data is all over the place, but doesn't exceed 2gb in a given month; however, just on "feeling" alone, I don't want a cheaper 2gb plan.

I guess I still remember the old AOL days and how "revolutionary" unlimited was, and I don't like the idea of going backward. I also have only owned a 3G iPad for less than a week now, but I can already tell it will use FAR more, especially since I can stream Netflix over 3G.

Since I signed up for unlimited, I'll probably keep the iPad grandfathered and be forced to switch for the next gen iPhone.

My wife literally uses data a 7th to a 10th of what I do on her At&T BlackBerry Bold, why no change for her plan?
