iSkin debuts premium $100 Enigma iPhone cases
Yikes. These new cases from iSkin sure do cost a pretty penny, although I will admit that they look much better than the previous offerings. The Enigma for 3G/S is available in two shades (black and white) and is made from several types of premium materials, the most eye-catching being genuine Napa leather (which Sena also uses). This model is also iSkin’s most expensive iPhone case to date, retailing for a Vaja-like $99.99 USD.
I’ve reviewed two iSkin iPhone cases in the past, and have had drastically different experiences. Their silicone cases (SoloFX) are quite solid, fit nicely, and are very durable. I can’t say the same for the first generation of their Fuze cases, though. I bought one about a year ago to review with my iPhone 2G, and the case managed to crack itself open within a week of normal usage (no drops). So while I do find this new Enigma terribly mysterious and interesting, I do have to wonder about what kind of build quality a $99.99 iSkin case offers.

A few years ago about an iSkin protective case for my Video iPod. I loved it. No case has ever kept an Apple product of mine as pristine.
On the other hand, financially speaking, you'd be better off to go naked and replace the phone via insurance like SquareTrade every 6 months…
I think $100 is ridiculous, and in general, the cost of cases has gotten out of hand. I think cases should be 50% of what we pay for them. In a former life, I worked for Sprint. I could sell a case for $35… it was actually worth about $3.75 to us.
My Revo from iSkin is doing pretty well for 2 and a half years!
