Now that unlimited data plans from AT&T are set to become a thing of the past as of next week, it’s a great time to refresh your memory on (or discover for the first time) how to check your iPhone data usage on AT&T.
It’s very easy to do, in any web browser or on the iPhone itself – read on for a simple step-by-step rundown
How To Check AT&T iPhone Data Usage in a Web Browser:
— Go to the AT&T web site at: http://wireless.att.com/
— Login with your phone number / account credentials
— Click on the Bill & Payments link
— Then click on the Billing Reports link (bottom of the listing in left-hand pane)
— Then choose Create a Billing Report
— From the Report drop-down, choose Data Usage Trend
— Set the date range you want to look at, and hit Submit.
That’s it – that should get you a bar chart with details of your monthly data usage. It shows all your data usage over AT&T’s cellular network – and excludes WiFi data consumption of course.
How To Check AT&T iPhone Data Usage on the iPhone:
— Go to the App Store and install the free AT&T myWireless Mobile app
— You’ll need to login to the app with the same account details you use on the att.com site
— Tap the Usage bar in the middle of the app’s main screen
— Tap the Data tab on the usage screen
That’s it – you should see a screen showing where you’re at in the current billing cycle and the amount of data used thus far. In the iPhone app, you don’t have the option to view charts and trends.
If you’re on a family plan with AT&T you should be able to see data usage for all the phone numbers on the account – in a browser or via the iPhone app.
Hope this little tip was of some use – and Happy iPhone data gulping.
