Fatboy Slim Demos His New DJ Mixing App for iPhone

This guy was huge when I lived in the UK.  He seems to be thoroughly enjoying his new Fatboy Slim Mix app as well.  I don’t think he’s going to make it as an informercial presenter if DJing dries up though. 🙂

Here’s a little more about the app, from the press release from Southern Fried Records:

Fatboy Slim’s new iPhone / iPad App… start mixing like Fatboy Slim in Minutes!

Any DJ will tell you, there’s something uniquely special about the thrill of having 2 tracks together ‘in the mix’. It’s a feeling DJ’s spend their lives trying to replicate.

However, unless you’re prepared to undertake months of practicing (months probably spent sentenced to a diet of train-wreck mixing before you finally achieve a moment of beat-match glory), you’re probably never going to experience that thrill.

Cue Norman Cook with his touch-mix app, pre-coded with a couple of decades of Norm’s mixing skill… now anyone can get a taste and in minutes rather than months!

Pre-loaded on the app are 15 Fatboy Slim tracks to play with, including all the classics like ‘Praise You’, ‘Star 69’ and ‘Right Here Right Now’ as well as his new track with Hervé ‘Machines Can Do The Work’. All you have to do is press play on 2 tracks of your choice, Norm kindly ‘drops them in’ on the beat and in time for you!
For the more experienced Dj’s there’s all sorts of advanced features, including effects like Delay and Flange.

Norm has also set up a section on his new Website called ‘Ask Norm’ where fans can ask him more questions about the App, or indeed about anything they like.
See the new website here:

You can find the Fatboy Slim Mix app in the App Store now, priced at $2.99.
