Here are two little pieces that I’ve found particularly interesting in this week’s parade of iPhone and iOS 4 news.
The first is PC World’s photo comparison of the difference between the iPhone 4’s Retina Display and the iPhone 3GS‘ not-so-Retina-Display (news via @d_waldron). I watched the Apple Keynote and saw a few hands-on videos, but you really need macro-focused images like the ones that PC World have provided to appreciate the difference between the current and next-gen screens.
The second link for today comes from the blog of Marco Arment (developer of Instapaper) and his post about how Apple’s marketing of Multitasking is probably misleading to a lot of users (via @SmokingApples). That’s because apps can multitask only in specific situations that the Apple API’s allow, and so true multitasking, the way we know it on Android, WinMo, or any desktop OS, just isn’t possible and it doesn’t seem like there’s anything that developers can do about it — not without more or flexible API’s from Apple.
