I want to own the iPhone 4 right away on launch day. I called AT&T and they said I can pre-order tomorrow and they will SHIP it to me AFTER the 24th! I asked if I can reserve one in the store and they said no it was first come first serve. Radio Shack said the same thing. Can I pre-order on Apple.com tonight at midnight in order to get in the store on the 24th? If I ask Apple to shift it to me will Fedex come to my home on the 24th, or will Apple ship it out from California on the 24th, and I'll receive later? Can I pre-order on Apple.com tonight and cancel/withdraw if the local Best Buy is still taking pre-orders after work? I am an existing customer with new customer pricing.

It is more due to the Reward Zone points I've got stacked up than anything though. The lack of a crowd on release day will hopefully be a nice bonus though.

Same way I did with the iPad. The only problem with that is we didn't get delivery from FedEx until about 2pm PST. The Best Buy option you mentioned sounds pretty good, but I'll be without a vehicle that day and will just have to wait, with longing.
