CNET is reporting that Wal-Mart has confirmed that they will carry, in store, on June 24th (launch day), iPhone 4.
Walmart said Friday that it will be one of several retail outlets who will have the iPhone 4 on June 24, its first day of availability anywhere. While Walmart has carried previous versions of the iPhone, this is a first that it will be for sale in its stores on the device’s official launch day.
Wal-Mart is joining, RadioShack, and of course Apple’s own retail and online store, as retail outlets confirmed to carry the iPhone at launch. You can pre-order the iPhone 4 at all of these locations starting June 15th. This shouldn’t come as a total surprise considering Wal-Mart cut the prices on the inventory of iPhone 3GS prior to the iPhone 4 announcement.
Best Buy’s name has been floated as a possible launch carrier, but that can’t be confirmed at this time. However, I can’t see Apple offering the iPhone at Wal-Mart and RadioShack without also offering the device at America’s largest consumer electronics retailer.
