Icebird 1.2 for iPhone: iOS 4 multitasking and task completion, Read Later quick links

Posted on 10 Jul 2010 by Thomas

Oh dear, this is awkward. You see, I’d secretly whispered to Twitterrfic that it was the only Twitter app for me, but that was also because I wasn’t expecting Icebird’s iOS 4 compatibility patch to come out for a little while. But, as you can tell from the screenshot above, it’s here, and it’s oh so cool.

Multitasking and task completion are working as expected, although the best part of this update thus far is the “read later” fix on my iPhone 3GS. Developer Fabian Kreiser told me on Twitter that tapping and holding on a link to send something to Instapaper was just a workaround hack (which didn’t work on my device), but whatever he did in v1.2 fixed everything, and it’s now easier than everything to Read Later.

Now all I have to do is figure out what kind of alibi I’m going to present to Twitterrific while I take a few days to try the new Icebird out.

You keep teasing me with your screenshots showing the app as free. Mind listing the real app prices when doing your mini reviews? How do you even have it showing as free?

  2. qrux says:

@sysrage It's in the "updates" section of App Store.
It just says that the app update is free.
