Apple Launches Beta of an Improved MobileMe Calendar Application

Less than a month after launching an overhauled version of the MobileMe Mail application (also with a very iPad-esque feel), Apple has now opened up a Beta version of an overhauled Calendar web application to MobileMe subscribers that request an invite. Apple will be handing invites over the next few weeks.

The Calendar beta includes a new web application at me.com with great-looking calendar views. Other improvements coming to the new Calendar app when it launches are: new calendar sharing tools for MobileMe members, read-only public calendars for everyone, RSVPs and event invitations, and CalDAV compatibility.

Apple has also posted an FAQ and a list of known issues in case you are interested in joining the Beta.
