Oops, GeoHot Hasn’t Jailbroken iPhone 4 At All

The real reason behind no release isn ‘t technical. It ‘s just that it will never stop, after blackra1n, people demand unlock, after blacksn0w, people demand untethered. I miss the days when jailbreaking and unlocking were difficult, it attracted a much higher caliber crowd.
Also, to the haters, the picture is quite obviously fake
It looks like he does not have a jailbreak for the latest iPhone and will not be working on one anytime soon, due in part to being fed up with the ‘lower caliber ‘ jailbreak crowd these days
I ‘ve been following (and using) jailbreaks since back in very early 1.x days, and I don ‘t recall any halcyon days where users didn ‘t ask for bigger, easier, faster jailbreaks more or less continually. So I can ‘t see GeoHot finding a conducive atmosphere anytime soon if he ‘s waiting on a more patient or genteel audience.
My bad for trusting the post at GeoHot ‘s own blog when posting earlier on this. Thanks to those who commented on that post to let me know I ‘d missed out on this morning ‘s latest on this.
I took that last comment by Geohot in his blog to be sarcastic. In other words, he's got the jailbreak, but if you are a "hater", then consider the picture a fake.
I read Geohot's post on his website totally differently. My understanding was that yes he has a jailbreak but no he is in no rush to release it. I read that he has the JB working but can't be arsed to turn it into a releasable product for the reasons that he gave. We might not like that and may question the reasons and for sure he will get slagged for being egotistical but that's really down to him.
I thought the last line about the photo being an obvious fake was just a sarcastic dig at all the people who love to slag him off and are bound to say "It's a fake"
Maybe I got it all wrong but it hardly matters if he has no intention of releasing
I'll honour the work he has done to date and hope he releases at some point.
I have nothing but respect for GeoHot's abilities. But … whenever the jailbreak scene gets into one of its high-drama phases I just find myself losing interest. It can be a PITA at times anyway – so when we get things like fake announcements and bitching about users being too demanding, my level of caring starts moving towards zero. For example, my level of interest in knowing whether the photo was real or fake is now at zero.
