Preview of Camera+ 1.2 looks promising: Separate exposure and focus controls

Posted on 18 Jul 2010 by Thomas

Camera+ 1.2 ($1.99) isn’t out yet, but tap tap tap have released a teaser of two seriously kickass new features. The first one is the mapping of the volume buttons to the camera shutter, which is a first for App Store apps, as far as I know. This turns out to have been a total mistake on my part: there is no volume-rocker based shutter button in 1.2.

The second and more ambiguous is the multi-touch enabled exposure and focus controls. In the trailer you can see photographer Lisa Bettany dragging one fingers across the screen to adjust exposure on-the-fly. She then taps on-screen with a second finger in a gesture which many commenters on the tap tap tap blog  believe to be a separate auto-focus control.

If that’s true, then the iPhone is going to become a lot more interesting to use for everyday picture taking. I just hope that these features are accessible on the 3GS…

I'm still waiting for a burst mode and basic video support so I don't need to camera apps.

Does anyone know if camera+ support geotagging?
Whenever I take a picture with camera+, save it to camera roll and import it on my mac, it seems that the location is
    gone.
