iLife '11 Coming Next Month with New Application?

Mac4ever is reporting that Apple will update their iLife suit of software on August 17th, 2010. The new version will be called iLife ’11 and will include a slew of new features.

– ILife ’11 will be sold for $79
– Release Date of 08/17/2010
– All applications will be 64-bit
– Improvements in iPhoto faces & places
– Improving the integration of social networks
– IWeb will be totally renewed
– New application (mystery!)
– Disappearance of iDVD
– MobileMe gallery in beta (with faces & places)

Apple released iLife ’08 in August of 2007, and iLife ’09 (the current version) at Macworld 2009 by Phil Schiller while Steve Jobs was away on sick leave.

Also, none of the “features” above sound like a stretch to me. Apple has been easing away from physical media for some time, thus the dropping of iDVD seems logical (they haven’t updated it in ages anyway). I can’t wait for 64-bit support personally. Also, the addition of another app does sound intriguing.

Do you have any ideas as to what the new application might be? We’d love to here your thoughts! Leave a comment!
