Quick Note: MobileSafari-Based Jailbreak Now Available for iOS Devices

JailbreakMe, a web-based jailbreaking web-application, which allows iOS device owners, a simple way to “jailbreak” their devices, and allow non-Apple-approved applications and other non-Apple sanctioned changes. To do this, the user only needs to visit JailbreakMe.com and active the on-screen slider.

This of course is not sanctioned by Apple and may void your device’s warranty. Apple also warns of “instability” and “compromised security” in their relevant support document.

This news comes just a week after the U.S. Library of Congress issued an exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act that now allows users to Jailbreak their devices without breaking any laws.

Again, this probably isn’t the safest thing you can do with your iOS device. However, if you have an old device you don’t use that much anymore, you might give it a try.
