MacRumors is reporting that Apple has seeded yet another new build (Build 10H571) of Mac OS X 10.6.5 to a handful of select developers. This seeded was released late last week, which was the same week that Apple released a Gold Master of iOS 4.2, and it is being said that Mac OS X 10.6.5 is needed for AirPrint to function, which suggest both will be released in conjunction with each other.
Also, this seed comes just after Apple seeded the first build of 10.6.6 to developers, which would be the release that comes after 10.6.5.
This is odd, but I don’t think it’s without explanation. I suspect that this is the final build of 10.6.5 before it’s final release in tandem with iOS 4.2. The Mac App Store is slated for a release 2 months from now, and 10.6.6 is needed for the Store to work. So, in short, 10.6.5 will be released imminently alongside iOS 4.2. 10.6.6 will be released alongside the Mac App Store when it comes available.
