Launchbar is one of those apps that is so thoroughly embedded in my Mac workflow that I often forget it’s there. It whips Quicksilver and beats the pants off of Spotlight in my book.

There are so many ways to use Launchbar — as an application launcher, iTunes controller, file manipulator, or custom site search engine — that it can be a little overwhelming to get started. Thank goodness, then, for reviews like the one that Brandom Pittman wrote for Smoking Apples: it’s chock full of great use cases, little tips, and should make parting with $35 (the cost of a single-user license) a lot easier on your conscience.

Launchbar isn’t cheap, but as Smoking Apples points out, it’s worth every freaking penny.
