MacStories is reporting that Apple will be releasing Mac OS X 10.6.5 and iTunes 10.1 is set to be released later today, and iOS 4.2 will be released on Friday. MacStories also states that this information comes from a “source working close with AT&T”, so the validity of this information is questionable.
According to our source, 10.6.5 completed the certification stage a few hours ago and iTunes was ready 3 weeks ago – likely after the release of beta 2 to developers.
This information doesn’t sound like a stretch however. Apple just released a build of Mac OS 10.6.5 earlier this week, off the heels of an increasingly rapid seed cycle. The Gold Master of iOS 4.2 was also seeded to developers early last week, which of course, means development has been finalized, and the update is awaiting release.
