Steambirds comes to iPhone and iPad

Steambirds is a “turn-based aerial combat game” from the devs at Spry Fox, and was recently adapted for iOS with the help of Semi-Secret Software (makers of Canabalt). The title reminds me a bit of Flight Control, but with machine guns mounted on every single plane. I’ve only played about three levels so far, but Steambirds has proven to be a surprising amount of tactical touchscreen fun (to coin a pretty lame phrase).

Steambirds is on sale for $0.99 for iPhone and $1.99 for iPad, and although there isn’t any lite version to try out, you can also play the full game right on a desktop browser at ArmorGames.com.
