iPhoneHellas is reporting that iOS 4.2, after missing the rumored launch date of last friday, could instead possibly launch tomorrow, November 16th.
MacStories goes on to suggest in a different report that iOS 4.2 is being delayed due to Wi-Fi issues on the iPad
Basically, even if the iPad manages to successfully connect to a local network, the connection is lost after a few minutes. This seems to be the most common problem among users, although some can’t simply use Safari at all. The bug has been reported to Apple, and they apparently decided to delay the release of iOS 4.2 to fix the bug.
The MacStories report goes on to say that Apple would likely release a new Gold Master build as early as last Friday. Sure enough, 9to5 Mac is reporting that Apple has seeded a new iOS 4.2 Gold Master build that includes a handful of fixes. After this new seed emerged, The Telegraph is reporting that the public release of iOS 4.2 has been delayed until November 24th.
So, in summary, iOS 4.2 missed it’s rumored (and unlikely) release date last Friday, and may be released tomorrow (November 16th), but will mostly come out November 24th.
