Rage HD – the latest highly-anticipated game from the makers of Doom and Quake (id Software) – has been released this week, and Gizmodo gives it a rave review. Just a tiny slice of that:

I’m not usually a huge fan of shooter games but I’ve played a bit of Doom and Quake and this one looks very tempting. It’s only $1.99 and is a universal app that will run on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad – though it does require iOS 3.2 as a minimum. There’s also a Rage (without the HD) version of it for devices that can’t handle higher resolution graphics – this HD version if for iPhone 4, iPod 4, or iPad.
