T.J. Maxx and Marshalls Selling 16GB iPads for $399

Engadget originally reported that discount department store chain T.J. Maxx would be selling the 16GB iPad Wi-Fi model for $399 in some of their retail stores. Of course, this $100 off the regular retail price.

T.J Maxx later confirmed Engadget’s report on their Twitter account.

MacRumors is also reporting that T.J. Maxx’s other chain of stores, Marshalls, is also offering the same iPad model at the same discounted price.

If I had to guess, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are selling these at a loss just to get people in their stores for Black Friday. The price is inexplicable in any other context, they simply can’t be making money off of this deal.
