Apple TV Updated – AirPlay Support for Streaming from Your iDevices


In amongst all the iOS 4.2 hoopla yesterday, Apple TV was not left out. It got an update as well – and it now supports AirPlay, so now you can stream content from your iOS 4.2 devices to Apple TV. You can stream audio from just about any app (Pandora and other radio apps for instance), photos, and some video for now (YouTube and iTunes purchased content mostly) which should extend in future.

AirPlay is a very cool new feature. It’s got some missing bits and takes a little getting used to at first, but it’s great to be able to have audio streaming to it in the background while you throw up a slideshow of your latest photos on the big screen, and all with no cables needed.
