Here are two pieces of gaming-related goodness (one of which could be considered a “rumour”, if you’re feeling skeptical): Real Racing 2 is a-coming and Minigore co-op betas are well underway.
The video I’ve embedded above is an in-development clip of RR2 being shown on an iPhone 4 (and being filmed with an iPhone 4). The in-game textures are looking very, very sharp and the racing is looking even more immersive than the last game, with a 10+ hour career mode. I’m also stoked to see actual cars that you buy and customize with in-game currency instead of different sets of “car types” that simply look like painted versions of one another. The game is apparently looking at a pre-Christmas 2010 release (link via @SmokingApples), barring any delays, though there hasn’t been any word on pricing yet.
The second bit of gaming news comes straight from the Minigore blog, which provides some details of Episode 4, which has been Coming Soon for about a year now. However, the most recent blog posts states that they’re now in the second phase of co-op beta testing and are looking at a December release…barring any unforeseen year-long delays.
My sister just got herself an iPhone 4, so I’m looking forward to seeing more great multiplayer games this Holiday (a.k.a. Christmas) season. Game on.
