ListLauncher Shows List of Installed Apps in Spotlight (jailbreak)

ListLauncher is a new jailbreak app/tweak that is intended to help you launch apps more quickly on the iPhone. Once installed, when you go to the Spotlight search home screen (left of the first home screen) it shows a list of all your installed apps, in alphabetical order – as seen in the screencap above.

I love the idea of seeing some faster launching methods for apps, but I’m not sure ListLauncher is getting there just yet. I’ve not used it – as I’m not currently running my iPhone 4 jailbroken – but I tend to agree with the verdict of Jeff over at The iPhone Download Blog on this – which is that in its current form this tweak doesn’t offer a great benefit. Especially as he points out that you can’t personalize or customize the apps list at all. So you can’t make your own selection of most frequently used apps to show, for instance – now that would be much more handy.

For now, I just don’t feel that scrolling vertically through a long list of apps has any advantage over just typing 2-3 letters into Spotlight, or hitting up your most used apps via your first couple of home screens (if you use that method) just by muscle memory.

ListLauncher is available in Cydia now, priced at $0.99.

What do you all think of this one? Have you tried it out yet? Would this sort of tweak help you launch your apps more quickly?
