I’m sure we all have, at one time or another, stumbled upon a free app or game in the App Store that has kept our attention for more than a few hours. That’s exactly how Geared and I got off the on the right foot.
Judging by the App Store’s description, Geared is not an unpopular game by any means. But I had never heard of it, so I decided to give it a shot, especially since it was promoted as being free for a limited time.
For iPhone games, I, for the most part, prefer brilliance through simplicity. Geared definitely falls into that category. It’s a very straightforward game that’s easy to learn.
In Geared, you work with – you guessed it – gears. Your on each level is to connect two gears together with a series of gears that are strategically placed by you. There are different sizes, quantities, and types of gears, along with nuances within some levels.
The game comes with 150 levels included, with another 50 available via in-game purchase. As you would expect, the levels start out easy but slowly increase in difficulty. After you get the hang of the game, you might be tempted to think that it’s too easy and you’ll finish in no time. Believe me when I say that that is not the case.
Geared is normally a paid app, but is currently available for free in the App Store.
