Apple has released an update for their iOS Remote application. Specifically, this update adds functionality allowing users to control AirPlay content that is streaming from their computer to their AppleTV, and you can also now control Internet radio stations from iTunes.

– Internet radio control to play thousands of internet radio streams in iTunes on your computer
– The ability to control iTunes on your computer to play Movies and TV shows that are rented from the iTunes Store
– Addresses issues connecting to an iTunes library or Apple TV
– Includes stability and performance improvements
It’s about time Apple added AirPlay to their Remote app. They’ve been touting the feature since before iOS 4.2 and the new Apple TV was released. Yet, for the many people that use their iOS device to control their Apple TV, the feature was inaccessible.
