Tilt to Live 1.6 for iPhone: new ¡Viva la Turret! mode and Perforator power-up

Tilt to Live was recently updated with its first bit of extra paid content, entitled ¡Viva la Turret!

The new mode costs $0.99 to unlock and is proving to be quite a lot of fun so far. Tilt to Live is a game that’s all about moving and dodging around the endless hordes of red dots, so using the Perforator turret power-up (which is the only power-up available in the new mode) and having it glue you in place for six whole seconds seems like one of the worst things you could do.

Fortunately, the power-up does nuke all nearby dots when you pick it up and leaves you in charge of a very powerful machine gun that positively shreds incoming dots. I really love the sound effects and animations that play every time you enter the Perforator, and it may be my favourite power-up thus far (it’s especially cool that you can basically tractor beam other Perforator power-ups while inside a Perforator — meaning you could probably spend the entire game in a turret if you were good enough).

However, as much fun as the new mode is, one of the best ways to play Tilt to Live is still in Classic or Code Red mode (which is Classic mode on crack), and I’m happy to report that the Perforator can also be used there…once you’ve unlocked it with 2,500,000 lifetime points in ¡Viva la Turret!, that is.

Don’t worry, though: though 2.5 million may looks like a lot of points, it’s really just two or three games, or about 15 minutes of play. Get perforating.
