
This is always a good sign that we’re on to something. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that images of purported cases intended to be used for the next-generation iPad, that were posted on Alibaba.com, have been removed due to legal request.
Here’s an excerpt from the report:
But someone — its unclear who — doesnt seem to appreciate all the attention: Alibaba.com was asked to remove the listings. We do not know whether these products are what they say they are, but we have received a legitimate takedown request and are removing the listings, Alibaba Group spokesman John Spelich said Wednesday.
No one knows for sure who requested that these images be taken down, but one of the suspected companies is one by the name of Fullchance Industrial Co. This company was supposedly working closely with Hon Hai Precision Industry, which happens to be the company that manufactures all of Apple’s iPhone and iPads.
Further fueling the fire, the images that 9to5Mac had posted, and we reported on here, have also been removed due to legal request.
Like I said, this is always a good sign that we’re on to something. It strikes too close to the nerve for some of these companies. If a company is spooked enough to have images removed, that usually means they are pretty darn close to accurate, and they want this leak sealed. Usually.
