2011’s Here, Should Get Off to a Flying Start for Apple News

Not that there’s often a big shortage of Apple related stories of one kind or other, but January 2011 should be a month jam-packed with big  Apple news. For starters, the new Mac App Store is set to launch on the 6th – Thursday of this coming week.

It will be interesting to see which apps are in the store at launch, what the pricing levels look like, and how the new store is received by users and developers.

Then there are the two huge stories we’re expecting to see later this month (or perhaps early in February) – the announcement of the iPad 2 and a Verizon iPhone.

Exciting times – and that’s just the first month or so of the new year. Later we’ll see the release of the iPad 2, new MacBook Pros, the Verizon iPhone at some point (unless all these ever-growing rumors prove false), a new iPhone in the early summer, that ginormous new data center in North Carolina swinging into action for iTunes in the cloud or making MobileMe useful or whatever the plan ends up being for it, the new Lion version of Mac OS X, and whatever else the folks at Cupertino decide to hit us with this year.
