Sale: RunKeeper Pro – 100% Off (limited time)

If you’re interested in starting out the New Year as an outdoor exercise enthusiast or tracking your regular outdoor activity — and if you’re interested in a huge bargain — then you’ll probably want to know that RunKeeper Pro (version 2.3.6.0) is on sale until January 31 for free. That’s a $10 price break for this app that tracks your activity – distance, speed, pace, and duration – using the iPhone’s GPS.

According to the developers, runners, cyclists, walkers, hikers and others can track their daily performance data and store that activity on a personal web dashboard at runkeeper.com. Your activities are displayed on a map, either on you iPhone or the web,  and can be shared with friends.

Adam Pash over at Lifehacker offer a distinction between the free and Pro version as well as this opinion:

The free version of RunKeeper is great by itself, tracking your run on a map using GPS and logging your speed, calories burned, pace, and all kinds of great information—which is also can automatically sync to their web site (see screenshot below). In addition to the basic features, RunKeeper Pro adds customizable audio cues (you choose when the personal trainer in your ear updates you on your run stats during your run) and advanced coaching (a tool that allows you to plan your workouts and set goals), among a few other Pro-only features.

Whether you’re a free app user and wondering whether you should upgrade, or if you’re wanting to save an Alexander Hamilton (US $10) after all that shopping over the holidays, give it a try and let us know what you think.
