
Are friends in a UK saw a rise in prices on the Apple online store earlier today due to the increase of the value-added-tax (VAT) from 17.5 to 20%.
So, popular Apple products such as the 13″ MacBook Pro jumped from £999 with VAT to £1020. Another example is the 16GB iPhone 4 jumping from £419 to £428.
In short, Apple chose not to absorb the tax increase, and has passed the cost along to their UK customers. Which, really isn’t a very nice thing to do.
