Apple Updates GarageBand, and iMovie for iLife ’11

Software_Update_icon.pngApple has released two different updates for two separate apps included in the iLife ’11 suite. One for GarageBand, and another for iMovie.

First up is GarageBand 6.0.1, which addresses a few minor issues seen in GarageBand ’11. The update is only 42.7MB in size, and fixes such problems as an issues seen with undoing Flex Time edits, removing latency from some guitar tracks, and restores the ability to use the Quantize Note Timing menu for tracks with Groove matching. I sure hope you all know what that means, because I sure don’t

Next up, is iMovie 9.0.1 which also fixes a few minor problems of it’s own.
Specifically, the update addresses problem wherein stabilization would be applied incorrectly to video from iPod and iPhone videos, a problem where some Facebook passwords couldn’t be used because they contained non-alphanumeric characters, improved compatibility with cameras that create multiple formats, and improved performance when scrolling through your Project library.

The iMovie update is even smaller at only 28.5MB in size.

So, no new features, but a solid update nonetheless. You can download these updates manually here and here, or you can download the updates via Software Update in the Apple Menu.
