Pixelmator is currently 50% off on the Mac App Store

I’m no expert at pushing pixels, but I have had fun with Pixelmator over the last year or so for creating little banners or quickly editing and cropping images. The app is normally only $60 to begin with (so I see it as a budget-priced Photoshop), but you can actually pick it up for half price “for a limited time” (according to the newsletter) to celebrate the launch of the Mac App Store.

The app is pretty fast and relatively stable (I’ve heard Photoshop isn’t exactly built like a rock either), but the one nitpick I’ve got with it s that it doesn’t like to stick in one Space. I’ve assigned it to stay in a Space all by itself, but every time I open a new image I tend to have it pop up right over Chrome, which is just a little annoying.

Anyway, I digress. $30 Pixelmator sale. Minor annoyances. Hundreds less than Photoshop. Your call. 🙂
