The Verizon iPhone 4 was announced by Verizon and Apple this morning. It’s sitting pretty on the front page of Apple.com now as well.
Here’s the quick rundown on some basics as well as pricing and availability for the Verizon iPhone 4:
— It’s nearly identical to the existing iPhone 4 for AT&T – except of course for being a CDMA rather than GSM phone so it can run on Verizon’s network.
— The price will be $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB
— It comes with a mobile hotspot app – that basically makes it a Wifi hotspot for up to 5 other devices.
— No word yet on data / voice pricing plans for it, or charges (if any) for the hotspot feature.
— On February 3, existing Verizon customers can begin placing pre-orders.
— On February 10 it goes on sale online and via Apple and Verizon stores.
We’ll have lots more coverage to follow, but that’s the basics from this morning’s event. So now those of you who’ve been waiting to make the switch from AT&T can start getting your money and your plan together.
