If anything, it’d be nice to have an extra option. Removing the home button, though? Highly doubt it.

My son’s home button broke on his iPhone, he jailbroke, added mQuickDo and viola! It worked great and saved him the cost of a repair and/or a new iPhone.

The home button is hardware triggered. This is how you initiate a force quit. If your software freezes, how are you going to get back to the home screen without a hardware button.. duh?????
Does anybody think anymore?

thing to break so far is the home button. All devices are absolutely unusable
without a home button. I had to spend $120 to repair the busted device (out of
warranty and I was not ready to upgrade to a 3GS when 4 was about to ship…but we
needed the phone). If the gestures were there I would not have had to spend the
cash. I agree the the home button will likely not go away…one button devices
define Apple.
