Link Love: Marco Arment on Verizon and the iPhone 4

I try to refrain from posting too much on the Verizon situation because I’m up here in The Canada and not there in The States, but I did find this quick post from Marco Arment (ex-Tumblr developer, creator of Instapaper) on Verizon versus the iPhone from a non-geeky perspective. These two lines were especially interesting:

The decision that people were discussing wasn’t “Do I get an iPhone or an Android whatever?”

It was always “Do I get an iPhone or do I stay on Verizon?”

Now that Verizon has the iPhone 4 and the second line is no longer a question, I wonder how many people will still really want Android? I don’t have solid Canadian numbers at the ready, but I do know from first-hand experience that I see far more iPhones than I do Android devices on Toronto streets (and both platforms are readily available on basically every carrier here in Canada).
