Sometime over the past few days, three new iPad SKUs have appeared in Best Buy’s website. All three are simply identified as “APPLE COMPUTER INC. – APPLE IPAD SKU WIFI” with two of the models listed as $599.99, and a third at $699.99. All three models are listed as “coming soon.”
All of this information is incredibly vague, I know, which leads me to guess that these postings are an mistake. However, they could very well represent the second-generation iPad. However, Best Buy has a spotty record of predicting, or being a good predictor, of future Apple products.
If I had to guess, they’re jumping the gun. I suspect we’ll be on an annual release schedule, and iPad will be released sometime in the spring, likely April.
