Of all the apps you don’t want to see lose the plot on your iPhone, I think the Phone app may be at or very near the top of the list. For instance, 9 seconds into a call to a company where you need to tap a number to make choices to route the call, it’s not ideal for the entire keypad to disappear. Which is what it decided to do for me on a call a little earlier this evening – as you can see in the screencap above.
When that happened the ‘Hide Keypad’ button was unresponsive (I thought reverse psychology might coax it back to action, but no such luck) and it took several attempts to get the End button to work. Once it did, when I went back into the Phone app, here’s the screen I was greeted with:
Killing the app via the Multitasking Bar and restarting it got it back to being a nice little Phone app again.
