As part of the run-up to the App Store celebrating its 10 billionth download, Apple has shared lists of the All-Time most downloaded apps. Four lists in fact – covering the All-Time top paid and free iPhone and iPad apps.

There are very few surprises on the two iPhone lists – Top Paid and Top Free – with stalwarts like Doodle Jump, Tap Tap Revenge (with two entries), Pocket God and Angry Birds topping the paid charts, and usual suspects like Facebook, Pandora, Google Mobile, and Shazam leading the free list.

The iPad paid list is a bit surprising though – or I’d even venture to say it’s very lame – with a fart app in the top ten and several others that I’d say might be good apps but hardly worldbeaters.

Anyway, here are the Top 10 lists, which TechCrunch was kind enough to compile:

  1. Doodle Jump
  2. Tap Tap Revenge 3
  3. Pocket God

TechCrunch has updated their original post to note that some of the top paid stats may be a little skewed, or ‘gamed’ in the view of some – because Apple has counted cumulative downloads for paid apps, including even those that occurred when an app was temporarily set to free.

You can see the full list – that goes well beyond the top 10 in each category – in iTunes here:

What do you all think of these lists? Which apps that made it into them are big surprises for you? And which apps are you shocked to see not making it into these?
