Boy Genius Report has pointed out that the white iPhone 4 has shown up in AT&T’s account management system. That is, users managing their account can now see an option for the white iPhone 4 in a menu that is used by customers to select their handset model if the one AT&T’s automation chooses is incorrect.
Here’s an excerpt from the report:
AT&T is now showing two versions of Apple’s unicorn-colored iPhone. The entries appear in AT&T’s Online Account Management system (OLAM), and read as “iPhone 4 – 16GB White” and “iPhone 4 – 32GB White.” While the carrier’s online account tool obviously wouldn’t include any indication as far as when we might expect white iPhone 4 models to hit the store shelves, it’s looking like late February or early March at this point.
I really can’t say if this is really newsworthy or not. Has this feature been there for some time, or is it a new addition? If it is new, does this mean that the white iPhone 4 is just around the bend, or this simply a gaffe on AT&T’s part.
In short, it’s worth knowing about, it could very well be our first hint that the white iPhone 4 is coming to market. However, I doubt this.
