Cool Things: Google’s New Weather Widget for Safari on iPhone

Google Weather widget for iPhone

Here’s another little bit of Google goodness for the iPhone. If you type the word ‘weather’ into the search bar in Safari you’ll get this lovely weather widget showing you current conditions info. It’s also got a groovy little slider that lets you see how the rest of the day’s weather looks. Below that you’ll get the forecast for the next four days, followed by normal search results.

It automagically knows your location, and you can bookmark the search result and add it to a home screen if you like as well. It’s really quite a cool new feature. If you’re not crazy about the (kinda boring) built-in Weather app, or paying for 3rd party apps, then this could be another good option for quick, basic weather info on your iPhone.

Right now it’s only available in English – but there should be more languages supported soon.
