Microsoft Possibly Bringing Office Apps to Mac App Store

appstore_icon20101020.jpgAll Things Digital is reporting that Microsoft is looking into the possibility of bringing their Office-branded suite of productivity apps to the Mac App Store.

“It’s something we are looking at,” Microsoft’s Amanda Lefebvre told Mobilized. However, the company said its product is already available in lots of places as well as via the Web–including in a new, free 30-day trial version.

“It’s something we haven’t ruled out,” she said. “We just have to see how that relates to our business.”

Microsoft is increasingly working on products for Apple devices. In fact, Microsoft just released OneNote for the iPhone last week. They’ve also played with the idea of bringing their Office suite of apps to the iPad. However, Microsoft’s remarks about bringing their apps to the Mac App Store, strike me as unorganized. Like they hadn’t even given it a thought before they were asked about it.
