Coming Soon – System-wide Voice Control for (Jailbroken) iPhones

This is one of those tweaks that makes me want to jailbreak my iPhone again pronto. It’s from chpwn, who has already provided the jailbreak community with some great jailbreak tweaks / apps like Infinidock, Infinifolders, ProSwitcher, and lots more.

It’s called VoiceActivator and here’s what it does:

Custom Voice Control commands! VoiceActivator is a new tweak by chpwn (http://chpwn.com/) to let you take full control of the Voice Control feature of your iPhone or iPod touch. Launch apps, open URLs, use Activator actions: it’s all here, in one tweak.

So you can open web pages, launch apps, and best of all is likely those Activator actions.

The iPhone has had Voice Control for some time of course, without any need to jailbreak – but it is lame and does very little, working only with the iPod and Phone apps. What VoiceActivator offers is much more like what a proper voice control app should be.

It’s due to be out in Cydia soon – next week according to 9to5Mac. In the meantime, follow @chpwn for all the latest news on it.
