GreenPois0n’s Big Surprise Turns Out To Be Not So Big

I posted earlier this week on some of the latest iOS jailbreak rumors – including one on the GreenPois0n team’s promises of a ‘big surprise’ in their upcoming release.

It looks like when they said big surprise what they really meant was something like ‘nice little surprise’. As usual, our friends over at iPhone Download Blog have got the lowdown:

The surprise was revealed today by JayWalker, who is apparently helping out the Chronic Dev Team with GreenPois0n. I hope you didn’t have your hopes too high up there because you’re going to be disappointed as JayWalker confirmed that the surprise iscustom animated boot logos…

The current plan is for this animation to be available for your boot animation via Cydia. Additionally you will have source to make your own.

OK, that’s a nice little extra, but really not a big thing at all, at least not to me. How often do you reboot your iPhone and take time to watch it boot back up?  This may be a clever little feature, but it’s got pretty limited novelty sort of value. I think maybe we should leave the big surprises to geohot when it comes to new jailbreaks. Smile
