It’s still early days on this subject, but it looks as if the new Verizon iPhone may be jailbreakable right out of the gate, according to at least one user who claims he successfully tested with the latest GreenPois0n jailbreak.
The tweet shown above is in response to a request from @pod2g – one of the developers of GreenPois0n – asking for users with new Verizon iPhones (some are already receiving their pre-ordered units) to test the jailbreak.
If confirmed this will be very good news for new Verizon iPhone owners and all those who were curious whether its version of iOS – 4.2.6 – would be jailbreakable. It would make sense too, given how recently released the new jailbreak is and how long Apple likely had the Verizon iPhone firmware set for prior to the release of the new model.
