Sparrow, a Tweetie-inspired Mail app, hits the Mac App Store

If you’re looking for an interesting Gmail-compliant e-mail application on the cheap, look no further than Sparrow ($9.99), which hit the Mac App Store just yesterday (via Macgasm). The interface has been heavily influenced by the Tweetie Mac app and people like John Gruber and Stephen Fry seem to be impressed with the results.

I have yet to purchase the app, but I know that at least one iSource team member is giving Sparrow a shot, so we should have more impressions to share in the coming days. Just beware that v1.0 is a Gmail-only client. Sparrow has announced that IMAP support is forthcoming, but don’t expect Yahoo! support if you make a purchase right now.
