The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple CEO Steve Jobs is still making key decisions and helping with product development, even while officially being on a medical leave of absence. Specifically, Jobs is reportedly overseeing the development of the next-generation iPad and iPhone.
Among products he is continuing to work on are the next version of the iPad tablet computer, expected out in the next couple of months, and a new iPhone, expected to be released this summer, said two of these people.
This shouldn’t be news. Saint Jobs isn’t dead, he’s just on a leave of absence to get his health in order. Of course he’s going to oversee company decisions. That said, believe me that the brilliant Apple employees working on these products have the situation well in hand, even if Jobs isn’t there. Besides, when Apple announced that Jobs was taking another leave, they said that he would still be involved in major company decisions.
